How to Read Fortune Telling Cards

The PowerFortunes, Fortune Telling Cards are a divination tool of a retro-modern design, based on the principles of cartomancy discovered several centuries old.

The 'Enquirer' is any person who asks their question from the cards. The 'Enquirer' may read his or her own cards, or have their cards read by someone else.

There are three spreads.
It is not necessary for all three spreads be used in one sitting. Any one, or all three spreads can be used during a reading.
The cards are to be interpreted in the context of the Enquirer's question. The cards will depict events that are to occur in the Enquirer's immediate future.
The GROUPS interpretations, as printed on the card faces, will apply if there is more than one card of the same denomination, but of a different suit. e.g. If there are two sevens in the same spread, the GROUPS interpretations for sevens, will apply.
A card can have different meanings depending on the other cards that surround it and on its position in the spread. These meanings are are also given in the GROUPS interpretations, on the card faces.
Each pack of cards comes with a set of complete and simple instructions.

THE FIRST SPREAD

This will answer a specific questions as asked by the 'Enquirer' and has seven steps.

Step 1 :

The 'Enquirer' is to shuffle the Pack and think of his or her question.

Step 2 :

The cards are to be cut into three parts, laid face down.

Step 3 :

The top cards of each pile is to be opened and the meanings read. These three cards convey information relevant to your present circumstances or near future, to give you a sense of what may lie ahead in your reading.

Step 4 :

Replace these three cards and put the three piles together again. The 'Enquirer's Card' is then to be selected from the pack, according to the characteristics of the person asking the questions.
The 'Enquirer's Card' is then to be placed face up, while you proceed to the next step.

Step 5 :

The remaining 31 cards are spread out, face down and the 'Enquirer' is to then randomly choose 12 cards.

Twelve randomly choosen fortune telling cards. — Draw out 12 cards from the remaining 31.

Step 6 :

The Enquirer's Card is placed at the top of the spread, while these 12 chosen cards are placed below one-by-one, starting with the top left corner. They will form three rows of four cards each of the following order:

1^st card: Top left corner of the top row.
2^nd card: To the right of the first card.
3rd card: To the right of the second card.
4^th card: To the right of the third card.
5^th card: First card on the left in the second row.
6^th card: To the right of the second row's first card.
7^th card: To the right of the second row's second card.
8^th card: To the right of the second row's third card.
9^th card: First card on the left in the third row.
10^th card: To the right of the third row's first card.
11^th card: To the right of the third row's second card.
12^th card: To the right of the third row's third card.

Each card drawn is read in conjunction with the other cards in the spread, for detailed information.

Thirteen fortune telling cards placed face-up. — The 13 cards drawn are placed face-up.

Step 7 :

Out of these twelve drawn cards, the 'Enquirer' is to choose five cards in the spread, on which they would like more information. The 'Enquirer' is to then draw out five more cards, one-by-one, from the remaining pile and place these, one-by-one on those five cards about which he/she desires further information.

THE SECOND SPREAD

For Greater Detail about future events.

Step 1 :

All eighteen cards chosen so far are reshuffled.

Step 2 :

These eighteen cards are then dealt into three piles of six cards each.

Make Three Piles. — Divide into three piles.

Step 3 :

Any one of the three piles is then taken by the 'Enquirer' and the meanings of the cards contained in it are read.

Read the meanings of any one pile — Open the cards of each pile, one pile at a time.

Step 4 :

These cards represent the 'Thoughts and Desires of the Enquirer'. Similarly, the cards of the other two piles are read. They represent, 'The Household' and 'The Fate in General' of the Enquirer.

Step 4 represents the 'Thoughts and Desires of the Enquirer'. — Each pile represents a part of the Enquirer's life.

THE THIRD SPREAD

This spread will reveal if a particular wish or desire of the 'Enquirer' will be realised in the future.

Step 1 :

The Enquirer's Card is taken out of the complete pack of 32. This card is selected in accordance with your appearance or relative to the circumstances that apply to you.

Step 2 :

The 'Enquirer' is to then shuffle the remaining 31 cards, while thinking of his or her wish.

Step 3 :

The Enquirer's Card is placed in the centre and eight cards are taken from the Pack, one by one and placed in the following order:

1^st card: Directly above the Enquirer's Card.
2^nd card: Directly below the Enquirer's Card.
3rd card: To the left of the Enquirer's Card.
4^th card: To the right of the Enquirer's Card.
5^th card: At the top left corner.
6^th card: At the top right corner.
7^th card: At the bottom left corner.
8^th card: At the bottom right corner.

Step 4 :

The meanings of the cards are read in conjunction with each other. Associations are made according to the 'Groups' descriptions, printed on the card faces.

Follow the 'Group' meanings, printed on the card faces. — Follow the 'Groups' meanings, as given on the cards.

Step 5 :

If the 'Nine of Hearts', also known as the 'Wish Card' appears, the Enquirer's wish will be fulfilled. If it does not, the spread may be repeated two more times, but no more. However, if the 'Wish Card' does not appear after three attempts, this particular wish will not be realised in the immediate to mid-term future.
