What happens when a mainstream newspaper visits an astrology conference?

Journalist Katherine Rowland of the Guardian newspaper visited the United Astrology Conference in Chicago USA. This is reported to be the largest professional gathering of astrologers in the world. According to Rowland, there were around 1,500 attendees, and the exhibition featured “Books, tracts, affiliations, proprietary apps and various software programmes.”

At the conference Rowland met sociologist Ian Anthony Waller who made this observation, “There’s something going on that is too accurate for me to dismiss [astrology] out of hand”. Waller further added that “If anybody ever really figures it out, it’s probably not going to be an astrologer, it’s probably going to be an astrophysicist or a physicist or somebody from Nasa who makes a connection between launch failures and Mercury or something like that.”

An online magazine gets a birthday prediction.

Online magazine Slate, was launched in 1996 and for the magazine’s 30^th birthday, journalist Heather Schwedel asked several astrologers for predictions, based on the magazine’s exact date and time of launch.

The details provided were 12 noon, June 24, 1996, Redmond, Washington, USA. One of the astrologers consulted, Ace Anderson, remarked that the magazine’s Cancer sun in the 10^th house, is auspicious.

The influence of the Venus cazimi.
