The Conjunction of Jupiter and Uranus in Taurus

The planets Jupiter ♃ and Uranus ♅ will form a conjunction in 21° of Taurus on April 20, 2024 that will usher in a period of new ideas and change. Jupiter and Uranus are only conjunct every 14 years, so it is really a big deal. This could in fact be one of the most profound astrological aspects of 2024, which is definitely a year of transition and change.

On a More Personal Note

This aspect is intensely personal for me because I was born during a Jupiter-Uranus conjunction in Cancer in the 1950s. How else can I explain why I was drawn to astrology, tarot and healing as a calling when it fell in my 10^th house? So I know that this one will affect me in a big way.

Jupiter is the planet associated with:

• Expansion.

While Uranus is the planet that represents:

• Rebellion.
• Revolution.
• Electrifying change.

What a Uranus Jupiter Conjunction Means

These planets are very comfortable together because they represent the future and can be very positive when they unite because they have a common goal of freedom. Jupiter has a tendency to expand the electric energy of Uranus. Jupiter is also associated with wisdom, long-distance travel, higher consciousness and adventure. Uranus is the outsider, the true maverick, thrives on being different and pertains to the higher mind. Freedom and revolution are in the air when these two planets merge, inspiring us to leave the old behind and take some risks that could actually pay off.

This aspect will be further intensified by the fact that Pluto entered Aquarius in January 2024, which will help in transforming our belief systems and providing a boost to the freedom movement and the concept of power to the people. Pluto in Aquarius intensifies the Uranian energy because Uranus rules the sign of Aquarius.

History of Jupiter-Uranus Conjunctions

I am a major believer in looking back at history to learn from our mistakes and also what we have done right. So please bear with me as I review some previous Jupiter-Uranus conjunctions. Jupiter and Uranus were conjunct in 25° of Taurus on May 6, 1941. The world at that time was dealing with dictators and World War Two. But did you know that the United States also launched the Lend-Lease act to lend or lease war supplies to any nation deemed "Vital to the defense of the United States." I don't know about you, but I find this to be a rather chilling parallel to the current world situation. I certainly don't want us to become involved in another World War, but the potential exists if we only examine history. A Jupiter-Uranus conjunction in Taurus will bring massive changes in finances and relationships because Taurus is ruled by the planet Venus. Economic changes are coming, no doubt about it.

The next Jupiter-Uranus conjunction occurred in the sign of Cancer in 1954-1955. It was exact in December 1954 and January 1955 in 26° of Cancer. I was born in November 1954 with Jupiter in 29° of Cancer and Uranus in 27° of Cancer. In case you are wondering, an orb of 2°-3° is enough to feel the effects of this alignment. Jupiter and Uranus in Cancer had a way of shaking up and revolutionizing the concept of families. For instance, my mother worked outside of the home, which was pretty rare for its time. And the next conjunction between Jupiter and Uranus will occur in 22° of Cancer in September 2037.

I don't know if astrology was utilized in the date of the Moon landing on July 20, 1969, but guess what? Jupiter and Uranus were conjunct in 0° of Libra back then. And Neil Armstrong famously said on that day:

"That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind."

If that doesn't symbolize the theme of a Jupiter-Uranus conjunction, nothing does! And the Jupiter-Uranus conjunction in Libra also ushered in changes in relationships.

The last Jupiter-Uranus conjunction that we experienced actually occurred in two signs due to the retrograde action of the two planets. The first one occurred on June 8, 2010 in 0° of Aries. The next two conjunctions were on September 18, 2010 in 28° of Pisces and the final one happened on January 4, 2011 in 27° of Pisces. On a personal level, I experienced these alignments as major change in my ability to access my courage (Aries) and faith (Pisces).

What Can You Expect from the Jupiter-Uranus Conjunction in Taurus?

Aries will experience the Jupiter-Uranus conjunction in the area of finances and Taurus will have a more optimistic attitude as well as enter a period of personal growth. Gemini will be blessed with a more spiritual outlook and Cancer could have a sudden burst of luck with friends, groups and goals. Leo is likely to have some expansion and change in your career or reputation, as well as a financial windfall. Virgo is likely to have an opportunity to travel or go back to school, while Libra could benefit from joint financial endeavors or see an expansion in your intimate life. Scorpio is poised to see some relationship commitment or movement, while Sagittarius might see changes in your daily routines, or a promotion or raise in your job.
