If there were any doubts about how seriously people take astrology, this should dispel them. Many expectant Indian parents are choosing astrologically auspicious hours for conducting C-sections. One first-time mother of 30, was pleased when her baby was delivered on September 5 at 8.04 am, as per the recommendations of an astrologer, who suggested that the birth should be between 7.27 am and 9.44 am. In the event, the caesarean delivery was smooth.
According to Dr Manjusha Goel, a leading Delhi based consultant, obstetrician and gynaecologist, “It’s very common and it’s on the rise over the last couple of years.”
The practice does come with a word of warning from doctors for early elective deliveries. They caution that babies should remain in the womb until at least the 39th week, so that vital organs like the lungs, brain and liver develop fully.
A 31-year old woman says her friend, whom she named as 'Grace', is involved in a serious legal matter. She said Grace had asked her for a Tarot reading about the issue, to which her response was, “She should really find a lawyer” instead. Apparently, Grace got really upset saying, "This would help her know what to expect and put her mind at ease, and that I wasn't being a good friend". The woman shared her story on a popular Reddit forum, where she asked others whether she made the right call. Reddit users were quick to assure the OP that she had made the right call, despite what her friend may think. One Redditor advising the OP to, “Tell her the Tarot tells her to get a lawyer.”
The blog, 'Astrology After Dark' on substack.com addresses the question, "Are men who are into astrology more feminine than the average male?" Their answer to this is an emphatic "No". The blog cites historical evidence in support of this view. This evidence shows that historically, astrology has mainly been practiced by men. This is illustrated by ancient forms of astrology such as that of the Hellenistic kind, which consisted of predominantly male scholars. But the same is also true of other forms, such as Vedic and Chinese. More modern examples cited of male masculinity in astrology are well-known astrologers, Rick Levine and Chris Brennan.
An 'X' based astrologer by the name of The Zodiac GM, has been making astrological predictions about sports events since the summer of 2017. He reportedly told Chron.com that he predicts success for the Houston Rockets for this NBA season. The Zodiac GM said, "When teams are in harmony with their energy and their signs astrologically, we're seeing that translate to winning games."
Episode 5 of season 6, of the reality TV show, 'The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City', featured a party hosted by participant Whitney Rose, to which a Tarot card reader by the name of Terence was invited. Rose confesses that she was somewhat surprised by the accuracy of Terence's readings. Terence revealed that there was a lack of communication between Whitney and her husband, Justin Rose. According to Whitney in her recent exclusive sit-down at Bravo TV, everything Terence predicted was “wild[ly]” accurate. Terence is believed to have also made accurate predictions for other members of the cast.
According to Dr Kimberly Key, the manner in which the questions in surveys about astrology are framed, may conceal a bias against astrological belief. While citing Edwards et al. (2025) surveying people's belief in astrology, Dr Key observed that, "Perhaps one of the biggest limitations of this study, and general astrological research conducted to date, is a lack of understanding of the complexity of the systems being studied." Dr Key further elaborates that, "Asking if people believe astrology is scientific, or not misses the psychological complexity of astrology’s appeal—and the complexity of astrology itself."
A 2023 Quest Diagnostics survey, 66 percent of Americans knew their horoscope sign, while only 58 percent knew their blood type. This declines to 47 percent for Millennials and 32 percent of those in Gen Z.

Created in 1998, The Tarot Garden is located outside Capalbio, in southern Tuscany, Italy. This unique location contains of monumental sculptures of mythical beasts and esoteric symbols based on the Major Arcana of the Tarot deck. American fashion designer Rick Owens debuted his SS26 women’s collection named Temple, at Paris Fashion Week in late September. This featured black and white gowns with hand drawn lines. Closer inspection of these lines revealed that they were in fact, an astrological birth chart. Expressing his views about the New York Times article that zodiac signs are 2,000 years out of date, Robert Cromwell writing in Cape Cod publication, the Provincetown Independent says that the discrepancy is easily resolved through the use of sidereal astrology. Sidereal astrology is mostly used in Vedic astrology. However, Cromwell says Western astrology, which works with the tropical zodiac, is tied to the seasons and equinoxes rather than the shifting constellations, and hence is not 2,000 years out of date as suggested by the NYT.

Pamela Love is a jewellery designer by profession, but has been reading Tarot cards since the age of 14. She recently released her own book and deck, “The Infinite Door: A Tarot Deck and Guide Book.”
Love said, “The imagery of various decks have been a fascination of mine and a huge inspiration in my jewellery.” The idea of creating a Tarot deck came to Love just before Covid and she said the process has been “Like a five-year endeavour.”
Pamela Colman Smith lived in Bude and the Lizard Peninsula for several decades until her death in 1951, and was best known for creating the illustrations of the Rider-Waite Tarot deck. An art exhibition called Resonances of Being, celebrating the Tarot artist's life and work, took place at Helston Old Chapel in Helston, UK. The exhibition featured work from seven other artists influenced by, and responding to Colman Smith's archives.
The Victoria and Albert Museum of London, examined the museum’s collection of Tarot decks in a short film. This collection include rare hand-painted 15th century decks and contemporary examples.
