The month of August is named after Gaius Julius Caesar Augustus, the first Roman emperor. Originally, the month was called Sextilis in Latin, as it was the sixth month of the Roman calendar. However, in 8 BCE, the Roman Senate renamed the month to honour Augustus Caesar. It is said that,
"August is like the Sunday of summer."
This is because in many parts of the world, August signifies the end of summer and the approach of autumn. A bittersweet feeling being associated with both.

Actor Johnny Depp has turned to tarot iconography to inspire an art collection that went on sale on July 17. The collection draws upon Depp's previous artwork, acting and deeply personal experiences in a uniquely symbolic style. This collection includes a tribute to his former partner, French actor and singer Vanessa Paradis. And in case you're wondering, no 'The Devil' has not been depicted as Amber Heard.
"I've always been tremendously curious about the tarot," Depp said in a video. He added, "There's a great art to the cards themselves, dating back to forever ago and the unseen art of reading the cards."
The four artworks, 'The Lovers', 'The Emperor', 'The Empress' and 'Strength' can be appreciated individually or as a set. Depp's "Tarot" series, limited to 195 editions and priced at $4,500 for an individual framed piece, follows previous collections by the actor. It will be sold by British art retailer Castle Fine Art.

The Twitter astrologer mentioned in the story above has also made predictions about the course of the 2024 US elections. In an interview to the New York Post, the astrologer, Amy Tripp said according to her predictions Donald Trump will be the next US President.

According to streaming tracker 'When to Stream', the 2024 horror movie 'Tarot' will debut on Netflix on August 1. Tarot first premiered on digital streaming on May 28 and is still available to purchase or rent on premium video on demand on several platforms including Prime Video, AppleTV+ and VUDU. The movie is also scheduled to be released on Blu-Ray and DVD this month.
A man on trial for stabbing a fellow student to death at a Canadian high school three years ago had wanted the victim to return his tarot cards. The trial court heard testimony to this effect from Kathryn Pountney, grandmother to the accused, Dylan Pountney, 21.
Pountney told the court that her grandson had mentioned the victim, Jennifer Winkler, "A couple of times. That he had seen her at school, and she has some cards that he had wanted back." Hindi cinema actor, Samir Soni recalls that a tarot card reader had hinted that his now wife Neelam, would be the woman in his life, before they were a couple. Neelam was a popular Bollywood actress in the 80s and early 90s. Samir revealed this in a recent YouTube interview. He recounted that he met a tarot card reader who told him about a potential life partner and it was as if he was describing Neelam. He remarked, "I met someone who was a tarot card reader. I don't know if she (Neelam) paid him".
