October is often described as a month of transition, beauty and reflection. According to this old saying about this month,
"October, that’s the magic month of the year, when everything does turn into gold!"
The highly auspicious, nine day biannual period of the 'Navratras' will end on October 1. This is a nine day period that occurs twice in a year, during a waxing period of the Moon.
Astrologers aren't usually the subject of high octane love affairs, but Amy Tripp, who claims to be “The internet’s most notorious astrologer”, appears to be the exception. Under the professional name Starheal, she provides her followers with updates such as, “The Moon opposite Chiron at 3:04pm ET exposes where old wounds meet current vulnerabilities. Something may trigger emotional pain.” Tripp is perhaps best known for correctly predicting the exact date on which Joe Biden would drop out of the presidential race.
Recently, court documents show Tripp has been embroiled in a legal battle with an official in the Department of Defence of the Trump administration, with whom she allegedly had a 15-month affair. On August 22, an anonymous litigant identified only as John Doe, filed a lawsuit against Tripp in Palm Beach County, Florida, accusing her of harassment, bullying and defamation. In the 17-page suit, J. Doe claimed he and Tripp met on Bumble in April 2024 while he was in the process of writing a book “And was consulting regarding astrological beliefs and related issues.” The lawsuit characterises the relationship between Doe and Tripp as, “A casual sexual relationship as well as a professional relationship regarding the astrology business.” Doe, who is described as an ex-military officer and a recently confirmed Defence Department official, says that he developed “An interest in astrology” and invested in Tripp’s company, Starheal LLC, in exchange for a 5% equity.
According to the lawsuit, in June 2025 Tripp informed Doe that “The astrological signs told her that John Doe’s confirmation to his position in the Department of Defence was imminent.” Doe claims that, owing to his impending confirmation, he broke up with Tripp via text, saying he intended to reconcile with his wife.
And you thought astrologers were a boring lot!

It doesn't hurt to have friends in high places and a Tarot reading for President Trump seems to suggest that this is a notion that is not lost on him. Tarot reader, Inbaal Honigman recently performed a reading for Trump, and she says that this showed a clear pattern: almost all of the knight cards came up. Honigman said that this represents loyal friends who protect him in different areas of power. In her opinion, “The reason that Trump can get away with so much, is because he has a platoon of 'Fixers' on speed dial who cover for him whenever he needs it”, adding “His Tarot cards feature nearly all the 'knight' cards, which are the foot soldiers of the Tarot.”
Looks like Trump knows how to keep his friends close, the cards didn't suggest where he might keep his enemies. Your opinion on the subject is welcome.
Cole reads Tarot cards. Just to clarify, Cole is a little black cat.
Once overlooked in a shelter, this black cat has become an unlikely internet sensation, thanks to a mysterious talent his owner, Emily Cook, discovered one day.
Cook said, “I am very interested in Tarot and astrology, so I had a deck of cards out — a traditional Rider–Waite deck — and I kept it in a cup holder on my couch”. Cook told People Magazine, “[Cole] just decided one day to go in there, and he started grabbing the cards, you know, almost like a litter box shuffle. Then he would grab whatever ones he picked in his little cat mouth and drop [the cards] on the carpet with his teeth. And I was like, ‘What the heck?!’”
As for Cole's background, he was adopted and returned twice before even turning six months old. When Cook found him, he was sick and isolated at the Humane Society. Cook had just moved into a new home with her son after a divorce and was looking for another addition to their family. Despite Cole’s fearful personality, something clicked.
Cole’s readings often feel uncannily accurate, Cook doesn’t force him to perform and explained that people think that they can schedule an appointment. Apparently not. So if you were thinking of engaging Cole's Tarot reading services, you'd better check beforehand to see if he can pencil you in.
A recent report by The New York Times claims our zodiac signs are 2,000 years out of sync, but astrologers believe it's a fundamental misunderstanding of how astrology actually works. Astrologers were quick to respond, wasting no time in setting the record straight. “Modern tropical western astrology is not based on the constellations, it’s based on the seasons”, according to Instagram astrologer Aliza Kelly. Another internet astrologer and activist, Canadian Chani Nicholas, expressed similar views, noting that “The reporters that write these articles never talk to an astrologer because if they did we would tell them this — yes, we know, it’s called the precession of the equinox.” Modern tropical astrology is tied to the equinoxes and seasonal cycles — not drifting constellations — which is why your zodiac sign hasn't suddenly changed.
Perhaps The New York Times should stay in their lane and stick to writing about current affairs, leaving astrology to the experts!
After pursuing a somewhat modest career as a Bollywood actress, Tulip Joshi has decided to take up a career as an astrologer. Born on September 11, 1980, in Mumbai to a Gujarati Hindu father and an Armenian-Lebanese Christian mother, Joshi has appeared in a handful of B-grade Hindi movies. Time will tell if she has better success reading the stars, rather than aspiring to be one.
According to cryptocurrency and blockchain site Cointelegraph, tracking the movement of celestial bodies might make you a better crypto trader. In support of this theory, the author of this piece, Felix Ng says, "While many crypto traders are busying themselves with wacky Fibonnaci charts and Bollinger Bands, there’s a growing cohort of traders who say prices can be predicted by crypto astrology."
In support of this theory Ng cites Crypto Damus, a crypto astrologists with 50,000 'X' followers, who claims to have predicted all three major Bitcoin tops in 2024, along with the extended summer sell-off, simply by looking at the planets. Hence Damus is of the opinion that, "It definitely works if you know how to use it."
The article also quotes a 2013 study from two academics at the University of Portsmouth that found there is some data to suggest moon phases impact the stock market, but there are also some words of caution for anyone thinking of using astrology to play the markets.
Pluto went out of bounds to the South in the sign of Aquarius, on August 29th, where it shall remain for roughly a decade. The New York Post would have us believe that this marks, "The end of the world as we know it!" On the other hand, they also say it could mean a few changes might occur, so take your pick.
The reasons cited for these predictions are those provided by astrologer Jill Brown who said, “Pluto out of bounds to the North tends to be regimes, dictators, autocrats, and authoritarians, a hostile takeover type intensity that emerges when Pluto battles shadow themes of power and control.” According to Brown, Pluto out of bounds has historically correlated with key patterns and seismic, collective shifts.
The last time Pluto went out of bounds to the South was from 1778 to 1788, a period that coincided with the American Revolution, the French Revolution and the British Industrial Revolution.
The second-century mathematician and astronomer Ptolemy of Alexandria drew up tables of planetary motions during his career. He devised a complex set of calculations to determine their supposed effects on the weather, in a branch of astrology known as astrometeorology. However at the time, the authorities became progressively more suspicious of the practice, and in 1735 The Witchcraft Act outlawed all predictions of weather forecasts made using astrometeorology. The practice of astrometeorology persists to this day and is the basis of popular almanacs that claim to predict the weather for the year ahead. However, it is also believed that although he was a notable pioneer in astronomy, Ptolemy went too far in his conclusions about planets influencing the atmosphere.
In continuation of a story that was first reported in the October '24 edition of 'Astrology News', a Tarot card reader will proceed in a Pennsylvania federal court with her constitutional challenge to a 164-year-old 'fortune telling' statute, which criminalises “Pretend[ing] for gain or lucre” to predict the future. The Tarot reader plausibly alleged the law violates her First and 14th Amendment rights after she was threatened with prosecution by the local police chief.
Well, roughly one-quarter of Americans are, according to a June 2025 study. Chris Scheitle and Katie Corcoran writing in 'The Conversation' say, “Astrology today is far from fringe” and if you, scroll through TikTok, browse dating profiles or sit at a cafe, you’ll often hear people reference their astrological sign.
According to this article, some analysts describe current times as an “Age of polycrisis”, with overlapping economic, political and environmental challenges. At the same time, identity categories have become more fluid, and traditional sources of authority — religion, education, government — are more likely to be contested or distrusted. According to this article, this may be a reason for astrology's resurgence, as it "May offer people tools for navigating these uncertainties."
American musician John Oates is perhaps best known as one half of the rock and soul duo, Hall & Oates, along with Daryl Hall. Oates says he can still clearly remember the moment when he had invited R&B artist Devon Gilfillian to his Nashville home for a songwriting session. The pair were chatting in his living room when Oates' wife Aimee produced a deck of Tarot cards and spread it out in front of them. As Oates recalls to Entertainment Weekly, "She said, 'Here, pick one'. And I can't remember whether it was me or Devin who slid the card out, but it said 'mending.' And I went, 'Whoa, that's a great title.' And we just walked into the music room and we wrote 'Mending.'"
The Theophane Venard School of Biotechnology at Assumption University of Thailand (AU) recently hosted alumnus Mr. Jessada Laicharoenkiat. Speaking to students in the FT 4144 Food Ingredients Functionality course, Laicharoenkiat gave an entertaining talk on 'Functional Food for Your Own Astrology'. He suggested that functional foods, which are those providing health benefits beyond basic nutrition, can be aligned with astrology to create personalised food and beverage concepts.
