The summer solstice is the more celebrated of the two solstices. In terms of astrology, the period for Cancer begins after the 21st of June and Cancer is, therefore regarded as the zodiac sign for the summer solstice. After 21st of June, days begin to get a little shorter and nights get progressively longer. Spiritually, the summer solstice represents the period when the life force of the solar system is at its peak and darkness is at its lowest point.
